Federalists and Anti-Federalists

Before the US Constitution was approved for the government use, it was supposed to be ratified by the States. However, there were people who didn't want it approved. These "Anti-Federalists" argued that the Constitution gave too much power to the government, and that they would infringe on the citizens rights.. The Federalists argued that, since there were 3 branches of the government, it would not rob anyones rights, and, if they wrote a Bill of Rights, it would overprotect certain rights and leave others be.
